10 Question Interview with Nicole + Felicia

Nicole and Felicia

1) Tell us a bit about your background, how did you get into designing bridal and
eveningwear, was this always your dream?

We grew up in a family deeply rooted in garment manufacturing, so an appreciation for fabric, fit, and craftsmanship was part of our everyday life. As children, we would spend hours in the workshop watching seamstresses—many of whom still work with us today—bring gowns to life. It was pure magic.

After graduating from university, we began designing dresses we could wear to special events, and that passion quickly evolved into the dream of building our own brand. Ten years later, we feel incredibly fortunate to have that manufacturing heritage and the unwavering support of our father. Creating gowns was always our dream, and it’s a privilege to be living it.

2) Where are you based?

Our design studio is in Taipei, Taiwan, and has a global client base that spans the U.S., Europe, Middle East, and Asia.

3) Describe your aesthetic of designs of the house.

Nicole + Felicia is known for dramatic silhouettes, impeccable tailoring, and a modern sense of romance. We love architectural shapes, intricate handwork, and bold proportions. Every beadwork design is developed in-house, and our celebrated floral gowns can take up to 600 hours to create. The result is a brand that is both sophisticated and modern.

4) When is the anniversary of your company, what are you doing to celebrate?

We launched in 2015, so 2025 marks our tenth anniversary. To celebrate, we’re hosting our first runway show in New York this fall—a milestone that reflects both our international growth and our deep appreciation for the U.S. market.

5) What role does each of you do in the company?

My sister now concentrates on managing the business of our mother company, while I oversee every element of the Nicole + Felicia brand—from design direction to daily operations.

6) What is the favorite part of working together?

Like I mentioned above, Although we no longer work side by side day to day, this division of roles allows our corporation to run seamlessly.

7) There is a grand entrance drama look is that why so many celebrities are drawn to your gowns like Taylor Swift, tell us more about the draw?

Absolutely. We design for women who want to make an unforgettable entrance. Celebrities love pieces that photograph beautifully from every angle and move with presence on the red carpet. Our gowns are engineered for that kind of impact while remaining refined and wearable. Throughout most red-carpet appearances, we work closely with each client to create bespoke looks, always listening and understanding the message they want to convey for those specific events.

8) What does your US bride want to look like today?

She wants individuality and confidence. U.S. brides are asking for gowns that feel personal—custom details, unexpected textures, and silhouettes that express their style while still carrying a touch of tradition and a timeless element in each look.

9) Is it different around the world or country?

Yes, tastes vary. Middle Eastern clients often embrace lavish embellishment and volume, while European brides tend toward sleek minimalism. We tailor each gown to the cultural context while keeping the Nicole + Felicia signature.

10) Tell us about the bespoke part of the business, how does that workinternationally?

Our bespoke process begins with a virtual or in-person consultation to explore the bride’s vision, preferred silhouette, and fabric choices. We then create sketches and fabric swatches, followed by a muslin prototype before crafting the final gown. Clients receive regular updates throughout the process to stay fully involved. For international brides, we coordinate fittings via video calls, and when possible, we meet clients in person during trunk shows to guide them in creating their dream gown. It’s a meticulous, highly personalized process designed to ensure a flawless fit, no matter where the bride is located.
