GRAMMY AWARDS 2019: Score One for the Ladies

AS REPORTED BY OUR BEAUTY EXPERT, DANA WOOD

Polished and princess-y: that isn’t a vibe one typically associates with the Grammys red carpet. But this year, ladylike looks ruled. It was so rad, refreshing and decidedly bridal-y. Here, the night’s biggest knockouts.

Dua Lipa: Blunt Beauty

Yes, the double winner (for Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording) got major kudos for her OTT silver and gold metallic mani, but we swooned over that sleek, center-parted bob. Her makeup, by Lilly Keys for Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, was equally girly. Think: multiple skin elixirs layered under dewy foundation, highlighted cheekbones, high-drama eyes and matte nude lips. Classy and pretty – a win-win.

Kylie Jenner: Pretty In Pinks

Talk about a monochrome moment. When it came to the makeup look she paired with that adorbs Balmain jumpsuit-y thing, the billion-dollar beauty mogul didn’t exactly go rogue and slather herself with a bunch of Goth goo. Instead, she landed on a palette of pinks for her eyes, lips and cheek. Paired with that soft, feathery updo, (Almost!) Mrs. Travis Scott looked incredible.

Camila Cabello: Luxe Lonytail

That dress! Business in the front, va-voom in the back. So good. But since we’re here to talk about beauty, let’s get on with it, shall we? Cabello’s low, textured pony was among the best hair looks of the night (and certainly a slam-dunk wedding style-steal). Smartly, her MUA opted for rosy cheeks and lips, picking up the tones of that killer frock. We approve.

Eve: Catching Waves

In a world gone tattoo mad, it’s always fun to be reminded of the insanely cute paw prints adorning this rap legend’s décolettage. Last night she brought it hard, with a sexy, Barbarella-style half-up situation, softly defined brows, lavender shadow, oodles of falsies and glossy berry lips. Yowza.

Miley Cyrus: Meet the Missus

Okay, maybe she was missing her shirt in her first outfit of the evening (an unspeakably cool Mugler suit featuring an oversized jacket and flared highwaters. Yes, yes and yes.). But ever since she got hitched to one of the Brothers Hemsworth, Cyrus has been presenting a fresh, feminine take on her frisky Southern self. Last night, we loved her long loose waves, low-key kitten liner and soft peach lip.

Alicia Keys: Chic Scrape

You gotta hand it to a woman in the public eye who refuses to wear an ounce of war paint. And guess what? The 15-time Grammy winner looks just great without it. Better than great – fantastic. Especially when she weds all that perfect skin with a super cool scraped-back, textured ‘do. Add a megawatt smile and it’s off to the races, baby.

Bebe Rexha: Blonde Bombshell

In the run-up to the Grammys, Rexha ignited a bit of a media firestorm when she revealed that certain designers refused to dress her because she’s a size 8. Yes, you read that right: 8. Chances are those same designers were crying in their coffee on Monday morning, because Rexha rocked it. A white-blonde ‘do that managed to look sexy and sweet all at once, flawless rose-neutral makeup and pitch-perfect brows - take that, clueless size-shamers.
