What dreamy concept are you designing for this upcoming collection?

I’m calling it “Cotton Candy Disco-Couture” with a sprinkle of the ‘90s.

Any special new fabrics you working with to drive the idea?

Nothing in particular is new but always special. There are hints of pink, metallics and lots of happy things.

Is color or metallics becoming more important for your brides like the red dress in Collection VI or the blue in VII?

Yes, I think that brides are always excited to step a little outside of the constraints of what we've been told a wedding is supposed to be, what a bride is supposed to look like, or how she’s supposed to dress. I love pushing the boundaries. You'll definitely see some metallic and some color mixed in with the creamy whites this season.

Does the inspiration come from what your brides are asking for or do you just think of something new that fascinates you?

I just think of something new that fascinates me. I think most brides want to discover the thing that is exciting but never imagined, and now that they see it they wish they had.

“Transcending the bride” describe what that means to you.

Absolutely nothing. I want the bride to transcend. I don't ever want to transcend the bride. I want to design dresses that take her into a place that transcends what she thought was possible.

Do your brides change their look from ceremony to reception or do they typically stay in the same dress or just switch the accessories?

All of the above.

Describe one of your favorite wedding dresses you designed for a bride and what was their venue like?

I love brides who take a chance or go with an unconventional place. I can't pick a favorite, though, in dress or venue. They’re all my babies and I love them all equally, hahahaha!

As a bespoke Atelier with artisans exclusive to New York City, how do you work with brides and celebrities outside of NYC?

We work with our wonderful retail partners in different locations. If they're unable to come directly to us and aren’t near a store that carries HONOR, we ask for very detailed measurements and photos, and we work with them by sending them a muslin of the dress first if possible, and send the finished gown to them to have altered locally.

Do you dress more than the bride for a wedding or sometimes do the whole party?

I've done the mother of the bride and the flower girls as well. For my sister's wedding, I did all the bridesmaids’ dresses and the flower girls’ dresses as well. It's fun to extend past just the bride. So, yes.
